What to Expect at Self-Care Saturday (Even If You’re Not “Into” Self-Care)

If you’ve ever thought, “self-care just isn’t my thing,” you’re not alone. For a lot of people, it can feel vague, indulgent, or like one more thing to add to an already full plate.
Self-Care Saturday was designed with that in mind.

This isn’t a lecture. It’s not something you have to do perfectly. And it’s not all-or-nothing. You don’t have to share anything out loud, and you don’t have to stay for a certain amount of time. You can come in, take a breath, and move at your own pace.
The day is meant to flow naturally with what you may already be doing. If you choose, you can start your morning with outdoor yoga at 9:15, spend some time walking through the ETX Market, and then step into a space created for intentional self-care.
When you arrive, you’ll be able to move through a series of simple, self-guided stations. Each one focuses on a different area of self-care, but all are designed to be approachable and practical.
You might begin by slowing down and noticing your body, using breath and simple awareness to reconnect. You may grab a cup of coffee or tea and take a moment to reflect on balance, especially if you’ve been feeling pulled between work and home. There’s a relational activity that helps you think about who you let into different parts of your life, and what feels aligned or in need of adjustment. You’ll also find a space to express emotions through creativity, a chance to reflect on your inner world, and an opportunity to reconnect with what gives you a sense of meaning.

Some people will move through every station. Some will spend more time in just one or two. Both are valid. This isn’t about getting it right. It’s about noticing what stands out to you.
As you move through the stations, you’ll have the option to mark each one on a simple map.
If you complete at least five of the six, you’ll be invited to finish your time at our “Intentional Growth” station, where you can plant a small succulent and choose a word or area of growth you want to carry with you.
There is also opportunity to purchase and receive a B12 shot by Optimal Aesthetics and have a one-on-one for self-massage with our talented massage therapist, Katy Davis. Create your own body scrub with Pink Candle, and learn more about Longview's new Refillery coming to downtown!
You don’t need to come prepared. You don’t need to know exactly what you need. You just have to show up.
If you’re already out enjoying the market or coming from yoga, consider stepping in. Even a few minutes of intentional pause can shift more than you expect.
Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it looks like slowing down long enough to notice what’s already there.
