About the event

Therapeutic Book Club: Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents

When: Thursdays at 6:00pm beginning April 9th (5 meetings)

Who: Led by Melanie Brewer

Join us for an evening book club designed for those seeking deeper understanding and healing in their family relationships. This is a book club — with just a small twist of group therapy.

In Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents by Lindsay C. Gibson, PsyD, readers explore how growing up with emotionally unavailable, reactive, or inconsistent caregivers can shape adult relationships, boundaries, and self-perception.

Through guided discussion and therapist-led reflection, participants will gain insight into family dynamics, identify lingering relational patterns, and learn practical tools for emotional clarity and healthier connection. Whether you’re working to untangle old roles, reduce guilt, strengthen boundaries, or simply understand yourself more fully, this group offers a supportive space to do that work alongside others walking a similar path.
